Introduction to Python

Location: somewhere in or around Chicago

Dates: to be determined. current plan is two consecutive 8 hour days, probably Sat/Sun

Cost: $200, subject to change as costs and revenue are better understood.

Prerequisite(s): Proficiency in a programming language. laptop with python installed.

Andrew Harrington has shown an interest in teaching. http://www.cs.luc.edu/~anh (click a few links - that page doesn't do him justice) I meet him at the chipy meeting, he seems like a perfect fit.

What: I am organizing a 2 day class to help programmers of other languages learn python. taught by a qualified python teacher.

Where: Somewhere in or around Chicago. So far only locals have expressed an interest, so no one will be staying at a hotel. If that changes, it will probably be at a hotel, and probably near O'Hare airport.

When – leaning towards a weekend, but not committed. I picked 2 days because this class in CA is 2 days: http://www.ucsc-extension.edu/ucsc/search/publicCourseSearchDetails.do?method=load&courseId=3007541 and two 8 hour days seems like the right amount. I have done three day classes before, and it seems the 3rd day is somewhat useless to the average student.

Cost: enough to cover my costs. Which currently is the teacher and a room.
