The first BookClub selection was chosen at the July 2005 meeting. It is
Concepts, Techniques, and Models of Computer Programming There's a
draft version in PDF online that we used while choosing the title and getting started. This is a college textbook, and priced accordingly (so were most of the other titles under consideration), but there is a less costly paperback edition as well as used copies available.
Although it's an MIT Press textbook, the book's
official site is at Université Catholique de Louvain, where one of the authors teaches. There's a page of
supplemental material, which includes errata, course plans, and all sorts of other stuff, perhaps most importantly some extensions to the basic Mozart system that the book uses.
